I've actually been a fan of people using the dollar coin in the US. Something that keeps being encouraged but just doesn't catch on. However, it can be taken to extreme, and that extreme is blatant when living in a country using the euro.
This is the contents of two pockets of coin. The one on the left is mine, the one on the right is a co-workers.
1cent and 2 cent are almost exactly the same. Mix in with that the 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, and 50 cent coins. And we still are not done. To top the pocket off we have 1 dollar and 2 dollar coins. All this coin makes for a heavy sided pocket and a frustrating wait at the grocery store line when people pay with all coin.
